Karen Gorzela received her M.S. in communication Disorders 1998, and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association. She began working with L.E.A.P.S.and Beyond, Inc. in 2014 and has extensive experience working with children who have articulation delays, disordered phonology, selective mutism, apraxia, word finding difficulties, fluency, and receptive and expressive language delays.

For children with emergent or pre-emergent communication skills, Karen believes in a whole language approach that may include a combination of sign language, picture exchange communication skills (PECS), and Augmentative/Alternative devices. Karen provides play based therapy, following the philosophy that children learn best when having fun.
